{"CACHEDAT":"2026-04-14 02:24:09","SLUG":"h5p-sEHFzx0Kym","MARKDOWN":"### H5P is a tool that allows you to create interactive content for Moodle courses.\n\n\n## Where do I create h5p activities in Moodle?\n\n* on the SciLMi Moodle site under \"My courses\" enter the \"Overview of Available h5p Activities (…)\"\n\n\n* activate Edit Mode\n* underneath the course heading open the \"More\" drop down menu and choose \"content bank\"\n* open the \"Add\" dropdown-menu and choose the interactive content type you want to create\n* give your activity a name that makes it recognisable in the content bank overview\n\n\n## How do I link my h5p activity to the right course section?\n\n* in the side bar (course index) open the course section you want to put your activity in\n* click on the \"+\" symbol at the bottom of the page > choose \"Activity or resource\" > \"H5P\"\n* enter a name (and if needed a description\") for your activity section\n* click on the \"+\" symbol in the \"Package file\" box and choose your activity from the content bank (tick the box with the \"Link to the file\" option)\n* after adding your activity \"Save and return to course\"\n\n \\\n\n\n:::warning\n### CAREFUL!!\n\nMoodle also allows you to edit h5p activities directly from inside the course sections. However, in order to avoid complications, only edit your source material in the **content bank** directly, as described above (speaking from experience**\ud83d\ude05**)!!\n\n:::\n\n\n## What to consider when working on drag & drop activities:\n\n\n**Create your design with a ppt-template before moving on to working with h5p.**\n\n* pick a 16:10 **landscape** ratio (1920x1200 pixels or 1280x800 pixels)\n* choose and design your desired drop area\n* Text boxes that won't be moved during the activity can also be designed in ppt for an improved visual appeal, however be aware that since they will be part of the background graphic, accessibility tools might not work on them!\n* Once you have created your template download it as a graphic file. Since simply saving the file as jpeg tends to downgrade the image quality, I recommend downloading the slide as pdf and putting it through an online pdf-to-jpeg converter.\n\n\n**You can then start working directly with h5p.**\n\n* define the task size according to the ratio you used for the template\n* set your template image as background image for your activity \n* in the \"Task\" section you can now create drop zones and text cards for your activity\n* in order to display and test the completed activity click the \"save\" button at the bottom of the page\n\n\n\\\n\n:::tip\n## Useful Links:\n\nTeaching Resources - Using h5p Interactive Content in Moodle (NC State University): \n\n
